The United Nations Association of South Africa is hosting a Universal Periodic Review (UPR) training session and simulation in order to draft a submission for South Africa’s third cycle of reviews coming up in 2017. This will help the youth engage with opportunity to learn more about UN mechanisms and having their voices represented at the SA’s UPR in 2017
The event aims to provide participants with knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of UN mechanisms, specifically the Universal Periodic Review, and then to exercise this understanding through a simulation which will encourage participants to engage with the topic of sexual harassment and violence and enable their voices and opinions to be represented in a submission for South Africa’s third cycle of reviews happening in 2017.
Training will take place at the University of Stellenbosch on 1 October 2016. It is open to all members of the youth (preferably between the ages of 17 – 25)
