Experiences Canada is seeking 16 young Canadians (ages 21-30) to lead the adventure of a lifetime. As a 150&Me Youth Ambassador, you will chaperone and mentor the 150&Me project participants as they travel across Canada’s regions and return to the nation’s capital.
Be part of a close-knit team who accompany the youth participants travelling to regions across Canada, supporting them in their week-long series of experiential learning activities and preparing them for their role at centre stage of the Regional Youth Forums planned for April and May, 2017. Your role will also include being rapporteurs for the Youth Forums, drafting final reports and assisting in the preparation of the final youth presentations to Canadian government and business leaders as part of Canada’s 150th celebrations in Ottawa in 2017.
Looking for a unique way to commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday? How would you enjoy the opportunity to travel to at least three different regions of Canada next spring? Put yourself at the forefront of this Canada 150 Signature youth-led Initiative!
Commitment and Compensation
In addition to the 3-day training session at the end of February, 2017, Youth Ambassadors will be required to make a commitment to travel to at least 2 different communities for a 7-10 day period each time during the months of April and May, 2017 and to attend the National Forum events in Ottawa for the period of June 23 – July 3 inclusive. Between the regional and national events, Youth Ambassadors will work together virtually to prepare presentations and reports for the National Forum. All travel, accommodation, and meal expenses for the training session and regional and national events will be provided by Experiences Canada and its partners. In addition, each Youth Ambassador will receive a cash honourarium of $2000 at the completion of the project.
