#ShapeNarratives For Peace: Nelson Komba | Diplomacy Opportunities

Nelson Komba is a community mobilizer and social change activist. His key areas of interest include good governance, public policy, quality education, equality, and peacebuilding.

He formed Youths Against Corruption Kenya; a non-governmental organization focused on fighting corruption, increasing community access to public resources, quality education and citizen participation in the governance process. Youths against corruption Kenya has a group called End Extremism Kenya, which has involved the community and a network of teachers in areas affected  by terrorism. Through the teachers’ network and community, They have managed to conduct capacity building, trainings and have seen a great change. His organization has also engaged youth in community cultural activities to help recognize the importance of unity and religious tolerance.

During this hard political climate in Kenya,  as a youth, Nelson Komba have initiated online petition championing for IEBC to initiate a dialogue for a peaceful  elections.

For his achievements, he has been awarded the YALI East African Fellowship and a nominee on the International Excellence Award under youth creativity and engagement, nominee Human Rights Defenders Awards in Kenya.
