Internship At United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate in New York | Diplomacy Opportunities
The Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) internships are for three (3) months with the opportunity for extension of up to six (6) months, pending on the needs of the Executive Directorate. The Intern will be reporting to CTED’s Public Information Officer.
Under the direct supervision and guidance of CTED’s Public Information Officer, the Intern will assist CTED with media monitoring/open source intelligence gathering, drafting, social media, research, and other tasks of an ad hoc nature. We are looking for a strong writer, ideally someone with journalistic skills and interest in/experience from international affairs (diplomacy/development/counter terrorism/law enforcement/intelligence) who is a self-starter with a great sense of initiative. Other tasks may include assisting with the organization of workshops and seminars.

Applicants must be enrolled in, or recently have graduated from, a graduate degree programme in journalism, political science, international relations, law, disarmament, security, development management, conflict resolution, or related area (e.g., LLB., JD, LLM, PhD).
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the internship programme. However, applicants are encouraged to list all relevant work experience in their UN professional history profile (PHP).
Fluency in English a must. Fluency in French, and other working languages of the United Nations (both oral and written, is considered an advantage. Knowledge of another language is desirable.
