International Youth Alliance for Peace IYAP

International Youth Alliance for Peace , a Youth led organization is growing every year with more and more young leaders joining our network. In order to better coordinate the activities of IYAP in Asia, as well as provide a platform to young leaders  of IYAP we look for country representatives who would closely liaise with our Asia and Pacific Regional Coordinator and Team  (in case there is yet no Regional Chapter covering your country). The volunteer position is envisaged to be for one year.

What are the responsibilities of the Country Representative:

  • Serve as representative of IYAP within your country and be the contact point for IYAP at the national level
  • Consciously ensure that activities are implemented in line with at least one of IYAP’s  strategic objectives, and vision
  • Map the youth activities and networks in your country
  • Organize youth discussions (at least 1 per month)
  • Build and maintain relationships or partnerships with stakeholders and other youth organizations.
  • Increase the awareness and membership of IYAP in your country
  • Create and maintain a culture of ownership towards all IYAP members,
  • Ensure regular communication of information and activities and Report promptly and efficiently to the Asia and Pacific Regional Coordinator,
  • Work to make sure the voice of youth is heard within the country.

How to Kick off?

  • Be willing to work on a volunteer basis (no remuneration available),
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in any degree or subject,
  • A track record of leadership or people management,
  • Be between the age of 18 and 28 years,
  • Willingness to work with teams,
  • S/he expected to be familiar with youth and development issues with relevant volunteer experiences,
  • S/he should have proven capacity to successfully build up contacts within regional unit as well as maintain the contact to the Global Coordinating Unit

Required skill

  • Good use of social media,
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Proposal writing and fundraising skills,
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills,
  • Self-motivated and assertive with a results orientation,
  • Demonstrated the ability to work effectively with a team, strong time management skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
